Im using the Plantronics Rig 800HX Wireless Xbox/PC headset, which utilises a USB wireless Transmitter/Receiver. Previously I've had to play on 20/100 as anything above that was just too loud, but now my system volume is set to 60-70/100. What it does mean, however, is my headphones thinking I'm deaf as they're now assuming a very high volume, so they scream at me with battery level indicators. Hi guys, Im having a really frustrating problem with my wireless headphones. I know for a fact this is a PC-side issue and not an issue with the headset, as they do not distort at all on my Xbox.Īs a temporary solution, I have installed EqualiserAPO and stuck a pre-amp of -20dB on it, which seems to have aleviated most of the distortion. Also, the distortion occurs at ALL VOLUME levels, and does not change one bit between them. If youre experiencing audio issues where you cant hear or others cant hear you, first check the headsets volume, balance, and mute settings: The headset. When I plug an USB adapter the windows detects it but they appear as Speakers. The test sound is the same regardless of the settings. Once the 280 is set up properly, you can expect it to zip around your pool and pick up everything from leaves to pollen. The only tricky part was removing the pressure tester to attach the hose to the intake valve. ![]() Our other team member observing the 360 set it up herself and said the process was also easy. Our testing team member had her pool maintenance service install the 280 and noted that it took mere minutes. However, testing both models, which are the same aside from the additional jet on the 360, provided us with even more findings on how to efficiently set them up for thorough cleaning. While the Vac-Sweep 360 is a bit bigger and faster than the 280, we found that it was almost too zippy at times, which is why the 280 won our Best Overall title. The Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 Pressure-Side Inground Pool Cleaner not only dethroned our previous long-standing best overall pick (the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Cleaner), it impressed us with its overall easy set-up, low-maintenance design, and impressive cleaning capabilities. ![]() Whether you're looking for a simple pool brush or a top-of-the-line robotic pool cleaner, we've rounded up the best models to make pool maintenance less of a chore. After our initial testing period of several weeks, we continue to monitor the best-performing pool cleaners out of the bunch for long-term durability. During this time, we made note of these key factors for each pool cleaner: cleaning coverage, ease of use, helpful features, and overall value. We've tested 33 various pool cleaners over the last year in our own pools across the country. “Next, consider how much time you’re willing to put into cleaning your pool or your vacuum.” If a tree doesn't shade your pool, you might not need a vacuum capable of sucking up leaves and twigs, but if you have an especially large pool, a robot vacuum can be a worthy splurge to save you time and labor. “When selecting a pool cleaner, pool owners should first consider their surrounding area-where is their pool located? What is the pool’s layout?” recommends Stewart Vernon, COO and founder of America’s Swimming Pool Company. If you own a pool, you need some type of pool cleaner to keep your swimming space clean and free of debris. 12/12/2023 0 Comments Creators of harvards data match![]() There were also four short-answer situational questions. The questions ranged from basic to raunchy-the first edition of the questionnaire asked applicants to pick between one of nine height ranges what they wanted in their date’s SAT score whether their race should be “Caucasian,” “Oriental,” “Negro,” or some combination how much they believed that they were a “conformist ” and whether they were sexually experienced or believed that “romantic love is necessary for successful marriage.” They even added a question about their ideal date’s bra size that they ended up throwing out. The founders sat down, thought about their own dating criteria, and just wrote them. The questions weren’t scientifically designed. “One in a Million” was printed in big, bold letters at the top of the survey’s second page. Today, online dating sites are a dime a dozen, but in the 1960s, Operation Match was years ahead of its time. Three weeks later, the clients would receive a sheet of paper with the names and contact information of their top six matches. Their answers would be recorded on punch cards and run through a room-sized IBM 1401 computer. ![]() ![]() They would then mail their answer sheet to Cambridge along with a $3 fee. To enter, its clients filled out a paper survey with 75 questions about themselves and the same 75 questions about their date’s ideal characteristics. The three of them-Tarr, Crump, and Ginsberg-managed Compatibility Research Inc., Operation Match’s parent corporation. Tarr then solicited the help of his chemistry-major roommate Crump. Ginsberg who would later attend Harvard Law School and become nominated to the Supreme Court. Morrill dropped out of Harvard soon after, but Tarr, who majored in mathematics, hired a “more or less homeless” Cornell University dropout named Douglas H. So Tarr and Morrill created the very first computer-based matchmaking service in the United States. Tarr hoped to automatically sort out people who were “not appropriate” for each other. They wanted a better, more surefire way to “fix up” people. In the fall of 1965, Tarr and Harvard classmate Vaughan Morrill III ’66 grew tired of the insufficient dating scene. “Maybe your mother would tell you about someone who was going to a college in the area,” he explains. The main alternative to these mixers was, in Tarr’s words, being “fixed up.” “It wasn’t uncommon to drive out to Smith back then,” Crump adds. Harvard boys even ventured as far as an hour-and-a-half off campus for mixers. “You’d ask yourself, ‘Why am I here?’” Crump says. ![]() But these mixers were never quite the ideal environment to find a match. Like other 20-year-old boys in 1965, you might have gone to these mixers to meet girls. Girls came to these mixers from all over: “Wellesley, BU, whatever,” recalls Jeffrey C. These mixers were in basketball-court gymnasiums with DJs playing records inside, and, occasionally, maybe even a live band. The Radcliffe students who took classes with Harvard boys but lived in the the Quad couldn’t enter the then male-only Lamont Library, but they could get into intercollegiate mixers-if they paid a small fee. Dating apps like Tinder and Bumble don’t exist yet it will be a long 29 years before Harvard’s own Datamatch is developed. ![]() It also doesn’t help that the College isn’t co-ed and the gender ratio in each of your classes sucks. Cambridge doesn’t yet have shuttles to ease the long trek between Harvard Yard and the Radcliffe Quadrangle. Picture this: You’re a 20, maybe 21-year-old Harvard boy in your junior year of college-hormonal, kind of a nerd, not really sure how to talk to girls. It’s the spring semester of 1965, and what we would call “cuffing season” in 2018 doesn’t yet have a name. ![]() 12/12/2023 0 Comments Microsoft office for ipad subscription![]() You can even make LibreOffice look like Microsoft Office. Credit: NotThatHenr圜 Legion Spatha Attack Bike Squadron (Extended) Make your bikers into a Command Squad instead, creating a fast Line unit with a good melee threat and a huge upgrade in durability. But all of that is also true of jetbike squads, which are only a little bit more expensive and clearly far stronger. Salamanders and Death Guard can swap those hand flamers for far more offensive alternatives. White Scars can get in to shoot up a target and then get everyone back out again with their advanced reaction. Outriders look weak unless their Legion gives them serious buffs, which most don’t. Similarly, I think a basic Assault Squad is considerably better if you want to assault stuff, thanks to having Line and a far lower price per model. But they’re really quite expensive in this role so I think there are better options. Instead of infiltrating you can use your Scout move to get somewhere relevant and then zoom in on turn 1 to kill something. ![]() The most obvious use of these guys is probably as another short-lived melta squad, rather like the Seekers. They’ve got Hit and Run, though it’ll probably be quite rare for them to live long enough to use it. Options include swapping the twin bolters for twin special weapons, swapping chainswords for expensive power weapons or free shotguns and getting hand flamers or volkite serpentas, both pretty cheaply. ![]() Here’s a unit of 3-10 speedy Marines who can Scout, armed with combi-bolters, pistols, chainswords and no grenades. The combi-melta squad is actually cheaper than an equivalent tactical support squad and will often be a better option. They’ll really add some utility to a Legion that can’t infiltrate for itself. You can give a Seeker Sergeant a combi-disintegrator if you’ve had the old “Imperial Space Marine” in your pile of shame, which I did. They only get one shot with their meltas but given that they’re likely to be standing on their own in front of a whole army that’s not exactly a big issue. No Spartan to melt? Cool, just use your precision shots to melt holes right through the enemy Praetor. They can infiltrate and hit a Spartan with a few melta shots before it and the 10 Cataphractii inside leave their deployment zone. It’s a shame they don’t come with shroud bombs, meaning that they might suffer quite a lot of losses to return fire.īut the more fun thing is to give them combi-meltas, which Seekers use better than anyone. Most of their rounds are Assault, so in theory you can charge stuff after firing it – though not especially effectively as these are not melee monsters. A 5-man squad is actually a lot cheaper than a Recon Squad with nemesis bolters so this isn’t a bad option at all. They can operate at 24” range and pick out Apothecaries, sergeants and even the occasional independent character. Interesting, but not super-efficient in terms of kills/point. With kraken bolters you’ve got effectively a mobile sniper squad, just without pinning. Seekers should instead either stick with their Kraken bolters or upgrade to combi-meltas. If you want snipers then go for the recon squad. They have a lot of the same weapon options as a Reconnaissance squad, and the standard vexilla, scanner and vox options most infantry get, but they aren’t Line – which is of course a huge deal.
